The Harris County-Pine Mountain Airport is growing… again. The addition of a new Jumbo T-Hangar makes three hangars in place, with two corporate hangars currently under construction. A new access road to the hangars also is being added, and the facelift includes a new, relocated taxiway
The work began in 2015 and is expected to be completed later this year. Future plans tentatively call for additional hangars along with an extended runway, as well as a new administrative building possibly in the mix at some point.
It’s all part of a larger plan to attract more fliers and based aircraft to the area, along with being a more all-purpose facility for individual pilots and corporate fleets. The airport already has among the lowest prices for AVGAS and jet fuel in the region. The new additions also promise to significantly boost revenue for the county long-term.
